Islamicate Futures: Knowledge, Ethics, and Muslim Societies invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit original manuscripts for its 2027 special issues.
Volume 2, No. 1-January 2027
Theme: Muslim Societies, Knowledge Production, and Social Transformation
Submission Deadline: 28 October 2026
This issue welcomes scholarly contributions examining the changing dynamics of Muslim societies, processes of knowledge production, intellectual authority, education, social institutions, digital transformation, identity formation, and broader patterns of social change.
Volume 2, No. 2-July 2027
Theme: Global Futures, Sustainability, and Islamicate Civilization
Submission Deadline: 28 April 2027
This issue invites critical studies addressing the future of Islamicate civilization in relation to sustainability, environmental ethics, technological development, global justice, governance, economic transformation, cultural change, and contemporary global challenges.
In addition to these thematic priorities, the journal welcomes manuscripts on other topics relevant to the broader scope of Islamicate Futures: Knowledge, Ethics, and Muslim Societies. Submissions must present original research based on conceptual, theoretical, historical, or empirical inquiry. Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches that offer critical, innovative, and internationally relevant contributions are particularly encouraged.
Manuscripts should be written in academic English and will undergo an editorial screening and double-blind peer-review process.
