About the Journal
Global Islamic Philanthropy Network
Global Islamic Philanthropy Network (GIPN) is an international, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarly knowledge, critical inquiry, and evidence-based practice in the field of Islamic philanthropy. The journal provides an interdisciplinary academic platform for researchers, scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and institutions to examine contemporary developments in zakat, waqf, infaq, sadaqah, Islamic social finance, humanitarian action, and other forms of faith-based philanthropy.
GIPN publishes theoretical, empirical, comparative, and policy-oriented research addressing the governance, management, institutional development, social impact, digital transformation, and sustainability of Islamic philanthropic practices. Particular attention is given to studies that examine the contribution of Islamic philanthropy to poverty alleviation, social welfare, sustainable development, humanitarian response, public policy, social inclusion, and community empowerment.
The journal also encourages interdisciplinary scholarship connecting Islamic philanthropy with economics, Islamic social finance, development studies, public policy, management, sociology, technology, humanitarian studies, and sustainable development. Comparative and cross-country research that strengthens the international understanding of Islamic philanthropic institutions and practices is particularly welcomed.
Reflecting its commitment to bridging scholarship and practice, Global Islamic Philanthropy Network facilitates the exchange of research findings, theoretical perspectives, institutional innovations, and policy insights among academics, practitioners, philanthropic organizations, and decision-makers. The journal seeks to contribute to a more robust, inclusive, accountable, evidence-based, and globally connected knowledge ecosystem for Islamic philanthropy.
The journal applies a rigorous double-blind peer-review process involving at least two independent reviewers and is published by Bahtera Al Fikr Press, part of Institut Bahtera Studi Islam .
